Marshella’s career started in higher education working in Admissions and the Career Management Center at Duke’s Fuqua School of business. It was her interest in career development that led her to transition to corporate and focus on talent acquisition. From this point, Marshella was sold on Talent Management and the many ways in which organizations engage with their talent.
Marshella was working for one of the largest healthcare companies in the world, delivering numerous recruiting events and partnering with senior leaders to develop and deliver talent management strategies. After 6 years, she left the organization when she got the amazing opportunity to step into a Talent Management Director role for a smaller organization helping to shape their new shared services organization.
The role was highly visible, giving her the chance to engage with various C-level leaders in the organization and its operating companies. Marshella was able to impact the organization and its operating companies creating talent development strategies focused on engaging and retaining talent.
Throughout her career, Marshella often thought about the idea of owning a business focused on Talent Management, but never fully explored the idea. Based on my experiences, she knew there had to be other organizations with similar challenges that were unable to address them due to various reasons. As Marshella saw the impact she was making within her organization, she started thinking about the larger impact she could have if she created the right offer to address talent engagement and development needs with the goal of engaging and retaining talent.
Now, Marshella created the TalentAgility Ally program where she becomes the Ally to organizations to help them reduce turnover and develop their top talent. Through deep analysis, customized plans, and delivery, Marshella is helping her clients actively engage, develop, and retain talent.
